When I say my prayers before I go to bed, (and yes, I do pray regularly), I find myself praying for the silliest things. I honestly believe that we can pray for whatever we want and God listens, no matter how petty it may seem. However, I've realized that sometimes I get caught up in my own little sphere and forget to pray for things that really matter in the bigger picture of this world. So, I made it a new goal to dedicate a portion of my prayers everyday to national and international news. :) Whether my prayer makes a difference or not, I know that it at least makes me more aware of what's going on around me, and it also reminds me daily how lucky I am.

Last night, I prayed for those little robots trying to stop the oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico, and I prayed that those working to stop the leak would be inspired to find the best method to stop it as quickly as possible. Currently, they say there's 42,000 gallons of oil leaking per day! It makes me so sad to think of all the potential damage to the surrounding wildlife. No matter how you feel about offshore drilling, oil companies such as BP should be able to prevent accidents such as these. So keep those robots in your prayers, too...
Not Silly. I agree with you completely! It's always a good reminder to forget oneself and pray for others...even robots. Thanks for this post.
